  i don't know any details myself, but i was wondering what is the watchtower's timeline for getting completely out of brooklyn?

  i know they have been building a new hq in patterson.

  (i think) they have also been selling many brooklyn properties.

  JWism- Bibical Conversion or Cult Indoctrination?

  something that always bothered me when i was in was how long it took someone to become a jehovah witness.

  many accounts in the bible had people becoming a christian immediately, overnight, or in a very brief time.

  with becoming a jehovah witness it was always like a cult indoctrination rather than a bible account conversion.. here are the steps as i remember them.

  i'm visiting my son and we got on the topic of me raising him in the jw's.

  i apologized and told him at the time i thought it was the right thing to do, but that i got them out before it was too late.

  he assured me it was only a matter of time before he would have left the religion.

  School Ties?

  there is a movie on right now called school ties- starring brendan fraser.

  the movie is about a "jewish" boy who goes off to a wasp college, but hides his jewish background from his friends and girlfriend.

  he becomes very popular and accepted by them, until his friends find out he is jewish.

  Saturday mornings

  saturday morning i went and watched my 5 year old grandson play football for the first time.

  it made me think about how when his dad was 5, his dad's saturday mornings back then were spend out in wts service selling the watchtower & awake magazines.

  what it the hell were we thinking being a part of this crazy cult?

  Had a JW dream last night

  had a weird jw dream last night.

  dreamed that 2 elders i served with wanted to have a discussion with me and my family.

  after sitting down at the table with them i then basically said something like, "fuck this shit, it's none of your business what we do.....get the hell out of here!
